The Cryptera EPP 1218 is the top-of-the line encrypting PIN pad in Cryptera’s 1200 series, offering manufacturers and integrators one of the most secure 3DES-compliant input devices available on the market today. Optimized for use in self-service kiosks, ATMs and self-payment gas pumps, the ruggedized design of the EPP 1218 is built to withstand the most severe fraudulent attacks while complying with payment security standards on the back end.
The EPP 1218 features a watertight polymer enclosure that houses color-etched stainless steel keys. The rugged unit has a lifespan of more than two million cycles. Like all Cryptera Encrypting PIN Pads, the EPP 1218 features an ADA-compliant, Braille equipped keyboard. The EPP 1218 also supports Remote Key Loading from Cryptera, giving customers an open-standard, flexible on-line key loading solution that is more secure and cost-effective than traditional dual-control split knowledge key installation and maintenance.

The EPP 1218 comes standard with support for the Cryptera Remote Key Loading product. During the integration phase of the EPP, Cryptera Denmark offers extensive support via telephone and e-mail. The API is available for Microsoft® Windows®.
