For companies looking for the most security for high-value transactions made in unattended payment environments, Cryptera offers the Universal Controller Module (UCM 3200), which serves as a central hub for the merchant network, payment network, card reader, input device and Cryptera’s Generic Payment Application. The Universal Controller Module is multi-function and can be used as the central processing unit in an EMV payment solution, as a communication gateway for a vending Multi Drop Bus (MDB) or in any appliance that requires communication to central location to facilitate payment.
Housed in a rugged plastic box that can be easily mounted inside the target equipment, the module is ideal for unattended payment networks such as self-service ticketing kiosks or retail kiosks, as well as facilitating payment through common vending machines using an MDB interface. The Universal Controller Module uses Telium technology, which optimizes the unit for high speed transactions, optimized data exchange and vending machine control.
Inside, the module contains a powerful ARM 9 based CPU, memory, network connection (via Ethernet), three serial connections, USB host and slave connections to connect to Cryptera Encrypting PIN Pads and card readers via RS-232. The unit is protected by Cryptera security features such as an embedded firewall, software authentication and integrity controls and key system management.
